Our typical class size is between 15 - 20 students. Class size varies from grade to grade.
What is your approach to technology?
Children are introduced to laptops in the 8s class with the goal of learning to type. In the 9s and 10s they begin using computers for research and writing, alongside a digital citizenship and media literacy curriculum. Students also use technology when it is purposeful and supports their work such as creating a website, designing the annual yearbook or filming an original movie.
What is your cell phone policy?
We do not allow any cell phone use during school. Phones and smart devices are collected at the beginning of each day and returned as students leave the building.
What is your approach to homework?
Homework starts in the 7s class and averages about 30 - 45 minutes a few times a week for the 8s -10s and up to an hour and a half in the middle school each evening. We believe that homework should have purpose, and be work that a child can do independently to reinforce concepts learned at school.
Where do graduates go on to high school?
Our students and families receive a great deal of support in the high school application process and our graduates go on to a wide range of excellent high schools. Check out the full list here.

Yes! Greene Hill is part of an independent school sports league and competes with a number of different schools throughout the year. We have volleyball, basketball, flag football, and running teams. Teams are open to the 10s and up and are all-gender and no-cut.
