SECRETARY OF THE BOARD

Leah currently works as Financial Controller for Portland House Advisors in New York. Prior to that, she worked as a consultant for several small businesses providing bookkeeping and accounting services. She has an undergraduate degree from New York University in accounting and masters degree from the New School for Social Research in political science.

Member of the Board, is currently attending CUNY School of Law. Before that, she was involved with Greene Hill School for 11 years, first as a volunteer and then as the first Development Director. Significant achievements included instituting the Annual Appeal program including implementing and maintaining the donor database. Rachael also co-chaired, with the Lower School Director, the successful NYSAIS Accreditation process. Before coming to Greene Hill, Rachael taught 4th grade and 7th grade in the NYC public school system. Her son Max was part of the first graduating class at GHS in 2017.

Member of the Board, is a Brooklyn native and has spent the last fourteen years inside New York City schools. A mother, activist, and writer, Tatesha has spent most of her career working with families, faculty, and administrators on how to bring anti-racist practices into their school community. A classroom teacher for many years, Tatesha has a passion for building equity into the daily curriculum. She has presented on this topic as well as other facets of race, equity, and inclusion at both local and national conferences. Tatesha currently serves as Director of Diversity and Equity at Mary McDowell Friends School supporting parents, faculty, board members, administrators and staff on how to talk to children about race and racism. She also works with these constituents on examining their own racial identities, and how to develop and apply an anti-bias lens to their work in and outside of schools.

Member of the Board, works at the KIPP Foundation, a national non-profit network of charter schools. Carrie also served as the Chief of Staff at KIPP NYC and as an educational consultant for Education First. Before coming to New York, Carrie was the Providence Public School District Facilitator of Planning and Professional Development.

Member of the Board, has been a Corporate Retirement Plan Director/Wealth Advisor with SeaCrest Wealth Management since 2015. He has also worked as a financial advisor for Citibank, Wells Fargo and JP Morgan. He holds a BA from Brooklyn College. Carlos is a mentor for Create, an organization that supports young adults in a temporary homeless facility. He and his wife Marleny have two children at GHS, Caleb in the 5s and Mila in the 7s.

Member of the Board, is the Director of Institutional Advancement at a Brooklyn independent school. She comes to us with a wealth of knowledge about fundraising and event planning.

For the last 25 years, Scott Moran has led and worked in progressive independent schools on both coasts, in roles including Head of School, Division Director, Math Specialist, and Classroom Teacher. Rooted in the belief that children are born curious about the world, Scott's work centers around the ways in which educators at all levels and in all contexts can support that curiosity, extending it to the academic learning children need to do in school. Scott recently founded the Caroline Pratt Center for Progressive Education, which supports educators by creating materials and workshops that build on progressive education thinking and practices. He is also a partner at SMCH Consulting, which provides strategy, planning, and communications support to schools and nonprofits, helping them develop into ever-better versions of themselves.
