Frost Valley in the Catskill Mountains

The 8s recently went on a 3-day overnight trip to Frost Valley in the Catskill Mountains. They took part in several programs with the Frost Valley staff that focused on team building and explorations of nature.

The first day, the 8s played “New Games”, built shelters in the woods, saw someone build a fire with a flint and metal, and then went on a night hike to look for nocturnal animals.

The second day, the 8s awoke to snow on the ground, and went ot a water ecology class in which they found many newts and water bugs. They then went on a half-day hike and saw bear prints and beaver lodges, painted their faces with rocks, and saw a magnificent waterfall. That night they had a campfire, sang songs, and make s’mores. The last day, they took part in a few ropes course activities including the “Flying Squirrel” and the “Chain Bridge” walk.
